Frequently Asked Questions
New to private Pilates or GYROTONIC®? Here are the questions clients ask most before their first visit. Every session at Elissa Brenner Beyond is private and one-on-one, so if your question isn't answered here, call (970) 618-0036 or email elissars@gmail.com
-
A movement method performed on specialised equipment, built around flowing, circular and spiralling movements. It develops strength, flexibility, balance and coordination at the same time, and is known for the sense of openness and ease it creates in the spine and joints.
-
Pilates works mainly in straight lines and focuses on core strength, alignment and control, using the reformer and other equipment. GYROTONIC® moves in three dimensions — circles, spirals and waves — and feels more fluid. The two complement each other well; at your first session Elissa can recommend the right mix for your body and goals.
-
Yes. Every session is one-on-one with Elissa for the full 50 minutes, and your programme is built around your body, your history and your goals — never a group template.
-
Sessions are 50 minutes. Your first session starts with a conversation about your goals, health history and any injuries, followed by a gentle movement assessment and introductory work on the equipment.
-
Absolutely. Private sessions are the best way to start: everything is set to your level, and you learn the equipment with Elissa's full attention.
-
Comfortable, form-fitting exercise clothing you can move freely in. Grip socks are recommended. All equipment is provided.
-
Many clients come to improve posture, core strength, mobility and body awareness, and sessions are always tailored to what your body needs that day. Pilates and GYROTONIC® are forms of exercise, not medical treatment — if you have a diagnosed condition, please check with your doctor first and tell Elissa about it before your first session.
-
In many cases, yes — with your doctor's or physiotherapist's clearance. Let Elissa know your history before booking, and your sessions will be adapted accordingly.
-
Single 50-minute session is $260. Packages: 10 sessions for $2,600, or 20 sessions for $5,200.
